...the problem is not WHAT our paper money is backed by but that it has to be backed by PRIVATE BANKERS at all...and who cares if they use gold or cheese or oil or bananas....it's true; each of those three would require specific and unique methods...if bananas were chosen then we'd be having problems with banana-producing countries...if we chose cheese, then we'd be having wars with Denmark and France....it just so happens that oil is the chosen "backer" and that oil exists in great quantities in the MidEast, hence our conflicts there...but that isn't the radical SOURCE of the problem.

The reality is that EXCEPT for providing a way for very rich people to get richer (and the people poorer), there is absolutely no reason why governments can't print their own money backed by their PEOPLE'S energy, talents and products, rather than some commodity only the wealthy can own by the ton.

The Founding Fathers knew this to be the best way to keep the People sovereign and solvent hence they said in the Constitution that Congress shall "coin money" for the state....this has been cleverly turned around to mean that what they really meant was that the government would produce the metal COINS only...that this is what was meant by "coin money".....turned around to mean "money coin"...money that is only COIN or metal...when they actually meant all money. Private bankers and their legal minions convinced us that the Founders never meant ALL money comes from the government...hence the bankers stepped in to supply us with paper money...which means 99.9999999% of all the money we have.

Money should be backed by citizens, not the private wealth of private individuals and banks, and it matters not at all, for the overarching problems we face, if those private bankers use gold, silver or oil....
