..not a single historian has EVER said the ancient Assyrian people disappeared. They said they intermarried and mixed with the waves of new settlers and in time, having lost their language, lost their history and sense of who they had been...just as our modern parents and nationalists warn us that if we lose our modern langauegw e will FORGET WHO WE ARE.

That's all any historian has said. It is our OWN assholes who have put these words into the mouths of historians as a way of then turning around and making fun of the "stupid so-called experts". Of COURSE Assyrians survived, but not AS Assyrians...not conscious of their ancient history and culture....it took the Euros to dig it up and teach it to them....the truth is that the bloodlines and geneologies and DNA survived...as did everyone elses...but the consciousness disappeared in time.

If we want to "remember" it all now,,,,,fine. But rhe clue as to the honesty of the one remembering is whether he or she accepts that there can be and are Buddhist, Muslim and Christian Assyrians..that religion plays NO part in reconstituting this ancient heritage...if not then you're just dealing with an opportunistic and bigoted fool who thinks he's going to win a country through deceit and trickery because that's all he knows how to do....that and curse your mother.
