...just barely missed being ensnarled in a "peregrinacion"...a vast crowd of the faithful who walk miles, and sometimes days, in the sun dragging children and old folk and hauling religious artifacts, statuettes, floral arrangements etc., all to the greater glory of god and his mother and to get them into heaven, they hope. All I could think of was "how stupid". I'm not at all impressed by FAITH...not when it means having faith that oceans will levitate or mountains get up and walk...if people actually have faith in the promises of Christianity so much the worse for them, and us...I don't care if their faith gives them "meaning" or "hope", as I said, so much the worse for all of us...because this sort of thing really serves to assuage people's stupidity and ignorance, their credulity, their idiocy and so on...and for that, it is indeed "valuable", to them...because where else in society can you have your stupidity stroked, or even respected? It won't happen in school, or in the business world, or usually not even in the world itself...only political parties and religion will make you revel in your stupidity, feel "proud" and even "blessed" to be so stupid....and even more, in the case of religion, you can have God on the side of your idiocy...not bad.
