...I have no problem with people trashing Islam...it is a religion like the rest and like the rest not fit for modern society. But that isn't the motivation behind Hitchens and the rest of them.

...since they also trash Christianity and Judaism it can look like they are just being inclusive. The real issue is that once again Christians are using a religion as their excuse to persecute and in this case, make war against an entire people.

...the idea they are peddling, along with Bush and the rest of the neo-cons, is that something peculiar about Islam, that it is, for instance, dedicated to attacking us and killing us, which is the cause of our wars and occupations and Patriot Act and the entire attack against our civil liberties etc. It's the old, "THEY made me do it".

...Muslims are fight the West because of what the West did to them...to entire countries. Did the West attack Iraq because "God told us to"? Well, yes, it turns out that this exactly what our dear leader, Bush, said...that God spoke to him and told him to attack Iraq.

..but, did any Muslim need a god to tell him or her to fight the attack? I think not....I think anyone whose children had been starved to death by Christian nations would want to fight back, regardless of any god.
