...the sane response to the impending war against Iraq, a nation that had done nothing to deserve it...brought against it by these "loving" Christians...was that violenece would be unleashed and all would suffer, and none so much as the Iraqi Christians who, on top of suffering what everyone else would from the general chaos and violence, would pay an additional price because they would be perceived as being in league with the Christian nations attacking Iraq...something the Sasanian Christians knew about and tried to avoid, and has been the bane of Christians living in Muslim lands when Christian nations attack.

...additionally there was the problem of forcing "democracy" on a region that knew nothing of and had no background in pluralism...which can be loosely defined as the ability to let the minority survive intact...and not wipe out all their rights and privileges simply because a majority took power...without that tradition all one has in a simple democracy is a tyrany of the majority.

...The Christians of Iraq, it was pointed out, would be losing in Saddam a strongman who at the least kept the streets quiet and secured for Christians basic human rights and opportunities in Iraq...so long as they did not preach sedition..which is illegal in every country. If a simple democracy prevailed in Iraq the result would not be freedom or special rights for Christians but rather an unstable government led by the Shi'aa majority...which is more fundamentalist than the minority Sunni of Saddam's party.

...And now we see the results followed predictably. There are no special anythings for anyone in Iraq...the so-called triangle that was supposed to be their reward for ass-kissing became instead Kurdistan...surprise! The Christians dare not peek outdoors...there is no special status for them anyway in a deomcratic nation where all must be equal, not special, under the law..and that law is, as we foretold, Sharia Law.

...the very definition of democracy is equality under the law....with all citizens being treated equally....this has even been applied with great illogic in America recently as a way to dismantle "quotas"..or any special advantage given to Afro-Americans who've clearly suffered far more at the hands of their white Christian fellow-citizens in the last 200 years than Christians have in Iraq. If American democracy insists on treating all its citizens equally, even though we all admit that Blacks have been shackled and deprived basic rights for centuries....how can anyone insist that Iraq MUST give unequal rights to its citizesn....Iraq is a Muslim nation which now has a Shi'aa majority...and that majority wants to make its laws the law of the land...and they have every right, under democracy, to do so...they no more have to cater to the special needs of their citizens than does America.

..another foolish notion mouthed by Jassim and others was that Iraqi democracy would be judged by how it treated its MINORITIES...a very wild and wooley statement considering that America has a dismal history when it comes to the rights of its minorities...or even its women...who did not have basic voting and other rights until THEY fought for them...to make minority rights the "litmus paper" test of a "true" democracy" is to damn them all...and all of them have had longer to get it right...and came from very different backgrounds than the Iraqis...who must make a gigantic leap in one bound.

...There will only be more disaster for the Christians of Iraq if these Americanized Iraqi Christians, using a so-called Assyrian heritage, involve themselves in "saving" Iraqi Christians...you'd think even they could see how much damage they've done already...damage hardly alleviated by the paltry things they've "accomplished" for those people.

...Americanized Christians have brought tens of millions worth of harm and destruction and murder to Iraq, as compared to the nickel's worth of "aid"... often mouthing the very same platitudes and bigoted statements of the American corporations who sold us this war...all their "plans" and "aid" amounts to is the insult following this injury.

..but they don't care...they are so in love with the image of themselves SAVING an "Assyrian Nation" that all the harm they bring in the world won't stop them...because it is for THEM, for their own glory as "saviors" that they do these things.
