Israel has cost the United States about $1.6 trillion

Since 1973, Israel has cost the United States about $1.6 trillion. If divided by today’s population, that is more than $5,700 per person.

This is an estimate by Thomas Stauffer, a consulting economist in Washington. For decades, his analyses of the Middle East scene have made him a frequent thorn in the side of the Israel lobby."

...no shit.

this word "cost" is misleading. We haven't given the money to Israel...we've given them the weapons WE have purchased from our corporations, from OUR tax dollars that we don't have for our medical expenses etc. It has "cost" us to BUY weapons from our manufacturers...whether they go to Israel or to the bottom of the ocean doesn't really matter, except insofar as they are needed to kill Palestinians with, so they will defend themselves, so we can yell that Jews are being ATTACKED!!!....and this has nothing to do with loving OR hating Jews...it's just that Israel presents the best emotional weapon to use on us...mostly because we feel guilty at how little we did to really help the Jews...so it's easy to make us feel obligated...but it could be any country and any religious group....

we all know that one-time sales don't make for a prosperous business...it's repeat customers that make the cash register sing...and so with these weapons sales...what's the point of selling them once, or twice...and what excuse can you give us for selling any country more weapons each year? Well, a threat to their security would be a good sales pitch...and Israel presents the easiest sales job of all, because we've made sure to FORCE them into an unending series of escalations against the Palestinians...that's why we've been blocking resolution of this thing for decades...because there is too much money at stake.

Go ahead...read Veblen and Marx and all sorts of political analysts and when you're done just consult your common sense...America makes most of its money from sales of weapons...weapons that are disguised as "aid"...and without wars or "unrest" we'd have no excuse to sell more weapons...which is also the main reason we invented Terrorists...an unending source of sales and hence profits for the same rat bastards who drag us into wars.

There...was that so hard?
