Definition of ETHNIC
1
: heathen
2
a : of or relating to large groups of people classed according to common racial, national, tribal, religious, linguistic, or cultural origin or background <ethnic minorities> <ethnic enclaves>

...I like "Heathen"....first off there is only one race; the Human Race...all this crap about black and white and yellow races is Racism. As far as "national", that means "nation" and the nation of assyrians, from Iraq, is Iraq, not Assyria. There is no Assyria....the French are not from Gaul...there hasn't been a Gaul for centuries and no Assyria for even longer. And the assyrians around the world are not a "nation in exile"...no one exiled them...they took themselves away for monetary reasons or because they got themselves into trouble with the law by preaching and practicing sedition and treason. As far as "tribal"....okay, they can be a tribe, they might as well. Their religious factions hardly make for "large groups"...even as Christians, under one umbrella, they hardly amount to a large group....as for their language, it isn't even their own, it is Aramaic, not Akkadian, so if they insist they can be Arameans, which they refuse to be...so they aren't an "assyrian linguistic group" and certainly of no large numbers...their culture is hard to distinguish from the dominant groups they live among....I don't think dolma makes you an ethnicity...and in the States and Europe their fondest wish is to be just like the majority, hence all the Jennifers, and Scots and Jasons....as far as background is concerned not a one of them knows what a true Assyrian background would be and neither do they have such a thing.,...they have a Christian "background"...a MidEastern Christian background, that is all.

Okay...they are a tribe. All that is lacking is the feather in the head.
