if you detest what he says about you, etc., then why do you try to do the same to him? all i'm suggesting is that you don't have to choose what's on your plate, if you don't like it. you can find another way to be - make up your own rules & live by them. i do. have a nice life, & be good to your family - they're the only ones who will give a damn for you in the end, & some people aren't born lucky enough to have that, even.
