Read "Jesus, Son of Man"...to see what low esteem Gibran held Christianity in. People think the ultimate compliment for a decent human bean is to say he or she is a "real" Christian...as if all virtue began and ended with that depressing religion of guilt and eating bodies and drinking blood.
Am reminded of my dear queer friend who sang in the choir at his Catholic High School. It was a priest that first "did" him...what else. His choir put out an album of "hip" religious songs...quite good. My favorite was the angelic show stopper..."Eat His Body, Drink His Blood". I kid you not, that was the title on the label. You had to hear their sweet voices extolling this appaling meal to understand how sick these people are. No wonder Muslims are horrified.
