Just returned from taping two shows for a new Assyrian television channel...very professional and most impressive. Instead of having to practically sit on Jackie's lap(when I taped with her) so we could both be framed by one camera(not a lot of room there) we had three cameras, one for each and one for a long shot.
At first I had a lengthy tussle with the gentleman who runs the show. He wanted to do it in Assyrian, not so much for nationalistic reasons, though that's always a factor, but because Americans tune in and we didn't want to be airing our "dirty laundry" in public.
Well, you can imagine where I landed with both boots! Wrong, I said...this is EXACTLY what they're counting on...this is the most effective way they maintain control...like the rapist who gets away with it for another day because people are too"ashamed" to testify. We HAVE these slimeballs among us, and they ARE sliming the rest of us..and they ARE counting on you and I to have the decency, the decency they lack, to keep quiet in order to "save face"...and while we're saving this mask of a face, our hearts, minds, souls and asses are being turned to mush with OUR help!
We will remain little better than servants on holiday so long as we think like this. The most advanced nations air ALL the dirty laundry they can as a way of exposing the worst and warning those who contemplate DOING the worst to think twice. Had someone slapped John hard when he stole the Ashurbanipal Library away from the young people who started it, I may not have had to kick him in his ass, thereby sparing US...not HIM, the embarassment we didn't deserve.
I was able to convince the fellow, who knew deep down exactly what I was talking about, and he agreed we could mention anything I had documentation for. I'd brought letters from the Chicago Art Council to me and John and letters from all of us to all of us. I also had the letters John sent to Detroit to hurt the Hammurabi, as well as his letter to me in which he clearly states that he'll write the letter the Arts Committee wants before it will install the Shumitum, if I'll drop the lawsuit against him.
I also read relevant sections of the letter from the lawyer representing me the first time. This program, Sharokeen Television can be seen only in San Jose I believe. I think it should be an interesting show and might answer some of the questions raised by the actions of a certain woman who has her own show from which she assured you all that her convention was a raging succfest, I mean success. Sharokeen TV follows right after hers on the same station.
