This from aina. Was going pretty good till she called on that same old God that we went nutso over. She's arguing in a loop as well. We aren't as polite as she might like...someone go over and tell her about this place. Now that a certain body part is heading East and is no more, we might be able to just pass muster...

To Romeo and Juliet, To have an Assyrian in Congress would be a nice sentiment but that's all--JUST SENTIMENT. What do you suppose he would do for us? What can he do in an nation that clearly supports Israel? Would he form an alliance to topple Saddam and replace his parliament with Assyrians? I think that we as Assyrians need to come together here and now. I am new to this forum and from what I've read so far I'm not only unimpressed but discouraged that we are arguing against one another, stooping to calling names and misinterpretation. Assyrian/Chaldean/Syryani? I was born and raised in America and have NEVER referred to anyone as such nor have I known that this was going on. This is so ridiculous. We're supposed to come together and re-build our nation? Brothers and sisters, let us realize that we are ONE people. If we are going to divide ourselves by names and religions then we are just as good as the Muslims and Jews of the world who cannot live a secular life. Please let us be a bigger person and stop attacking one another, otherwise we won't be anymore!! There are Assyrian children here in USA who don't speak a word of Assyrian. Partly their parents fault but also because they are ashamed of their heritage. Why? Because there isn't enough knowledge for the general public to keep them abreast of the Assyrian issues and of Assyrians in general. And if the average non-Assyrian person came to this forum to try to understand the issues we face as Assyrians they'd read only to find that Assyrians can't even decide what to call themselves. Please I urge you to keep this forum as civil and as intelligent as a forum can be. We are all one and the same, lets reflect this others. I don't mean to insult or offend anyone by my message. I am merely stating what I know. Thanks and God Bless. Mary
