I am sad to hear this. At the same time, I understand why it had to be done. You are ahead of OUR time. Still, you don't need Modern Assyrians to preserve this heritage right? Did you not meet a most interested Englishman in Portugal many years ago who contributed to the Shamirum? Did you not say non-Assyrians have told you things about Assyrians after seeing Ashurbanipal in San Francisco? I tell you, if you were a Persian trying to install a monument of Cyrus the Great in L.A., you would have NEVER encountered the nonesense you have had to deal with. The average Iranian may not be able to afford good artwork, but go into his home and you will see how he tries to decorate it with some kind of Persian art. Like I said, we have a lot of catching up to do.
