What I found uncomfortable about your generalizations about "Assyrians" of the present day is that you seemed to only point to the negative examples in the community - consistently - & trash talking the ancient Assyrians, instead talking about the positive examples in the current community or the contributions ancient Assyrians have made to civilization in general. It would be like pointing out only the negative examples in the Germanic/Celtic cultures only, all the time... & I know that there are good Germans & Celts & "other cultures" out there - I've met a lot of them.

Frankly, I wish there was no such thing as ethnicity anymore, b/c I have met people who are incredibly "ethnic" to the point that they can't tolerate any other people outside their ethnic designation.

Anyway, I think that the AINA board doesn't accurately represent the present day Assyrians/Chaldeans/Maronites my family knows, at least... most of whom live in Texas (ironically) & the northeast (near Boston). & most of them are too busy to write posts on forums or don't care to act like "missionaries" forcing their thoughts down other peoples' throats... much like what one would observe at AINA.
