The odds are already stacked against me in my silly little attempt to convince the world that the New Testament was originally penned in the language of us "darkies."
It wouldn't help my cause to spell it differently than the west is accustomed to.
By the same token, I'd love for our name to be spelled in English "Ashurian", however every one of us (including yourself) goes by the English spelling "ASS"yrian. It just happens to be expedient for the moment - no matter how embarassing at times.
The "Peshitta" spelling is no different. Get my "draft?"
