Interesting... I was forced to learn how to square dance in middle school, & I'm a 1st generation American.

Well, so for me, I can definitely see how I didn't learn too much about Chaldean/Assyrian culture because there was NO community of that sort where I grew up. There was a small Finnish/Scandinavian community, so I am more culturally aware about that stuff simply because I attended events staged by that community all the damn time & was even forced to wear the Finnish national costume (for girls) numerous times, etc. Any contact I had as a child w/ Chaldeans/Assyrians only occured when my family went to Houston once a year to visit my dad's parents, relatives, & friends. But this is only *my* situation, & perhaps it is different for the rest of the community.
