It took an outright lie to get America into war with Vietnam. There was no attack in the Gulf of Tonkin. Johnson lied, plain and simple and the nation believed him and rushed off to war killing three million innocent Vietnamese and 58,000 of our own.

Today the lie is being vetted in public...the stage is being set for a declaration that violations have been discovered...weapons were hidden...material breaches made...whatever it takes to get us into another war.

This time the lie is being crafted right before our noses...it's receiving trial runs to see how many buy it...polls are taking the national pulse till we get just enough people believing the lie...the lie we're helping fashion this time by indicating what more the President has to do, how better to refine and tweak the lie so we'll happily "believe" it.

That's one kind of "honesty".
