The web version of the story did not include the entire article. Here is the complete story regarding the Assyrian demonstration. The Assyrian story was part of a more complete article about Sunday's events and it followed the description of a peace vigil. The peace vigil took place at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez too and was attended by 300 people.

Peace vigil draws 300 to S.J. plaza
by Brandon Balley

... Earlier in the day, the Plaza de Cesar Chavez was the site of another demonstration, this one by several hundred people who wanted to publicize the mistreatment of Assyrian Christians in Iraq and to demand their representation in any future government of that country.

"For the sake of our friends and relatives in Iraq, we are obviously seeking a peaceful solution," said Jacklin Bejan, an organizer of the earlier event. "But if we have exhausted all means of a peaceful solution, then the Assyrian-American community is ready to stand behind the president of the United States."

The above was copied from AINA's forum.

I have another suggestion. Instead of a peaceful march, perhaps Ms. Bejan could try suing the state of Iraq to get them to adhere to her demands. Perhaps Shawn Leuthold, Chinese Food Master and Attorney at Law can invoke some sort of Xinhua International Shoe Dum Sum Ling argument which will prove useful.

Only time will tell.

P.S. Extra plum sauce, please.
