Once, I wore a friend of mine's tuxedo (he's the same height as me & very skinny) on stage to play violin in a concert (my hair was pulled back in a tight bun & I had brick-red lipstick on with a bit of blush to give my face more color). The overall effect was that I looked like a guy in dress, but had a female face with very dramatic features.
xxx I was skinny, like a ballerina, so the outfit looked artsy on me. Years later, I'd see the movie "Frida" & remember the uncomfortable feeling of familiarity her art evoked in me when I was in middle school & my mom came back from an exhibition of Kahlo's works with posters, books, & postcards.... But actually, that feeling has dissipated & been replaced with one of admiration for the artist who was unafraid to express herself even in men's clothing. Enough about this.... Work, work, work....
