It's the same reason why I had a problem with Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill - it just sounded like a bunch of whining, as a way to attract attention... even Tori Amos can sound like that (though I really like both Morissette & Amos when they sing about other things outside of themselves). & there are plenty of male musicians who do the same thing on mainstream radio, these days, as well. A song or 2 about oneself is fine, but for the love of all things holy - NOT a whole album.... Then it becomes narcissism.
