I had the same thoughts about that article. The more bewildered the Iraqis are, worried over every aspect of their lives, the more the U.S. can control them. Kinda like here in the States, they "bewilder" folks with all kinds of fads & junk (in the news, on ads, in the stores) so they can't pay attention to what really counts - civil liberties, clean air, etc.
