I think you answered yourself and proved my point in the above sentence.

Let's at least honest with each other on these points.

Iraq and the Iraqis are the descendants of the ancient Assyrians. The majority of the ancient Assyrians initially converetd to Christianity and then the majority of those convertees then converted to Islam. Period.

In conclusion although they speak Arabic they are as indigenous to Iraq as we are. That makes the Christians and Muslims equal co-owners of Iraq.
