This last way is the hardest, because it involves a lot more energy (in the form of thought, esp. about the source of one's emotion) and time than simply reflecting or negating the oppressor'S ACTIONS.

Also, do they actively or passively buy into THIS CONCEPT/BEHAVIOR OF SUBJUGATING A FEARED & UNKNOWN "other" that they observed in the culture of their oppressors?

Peace is hard to come by because it takes more energy than violence - more thought (rejecting norms & redefining their world) & more action (suppressing instinct & learned behaviors in themselves & in others & CREATING NEW BEHAVIORAL MODELS).
