Great man...Great BIG man. A prodigy, an enfant terrible...a man way ahead of his time...also blocked and frustrated...also a far more talented person than I ever was.

He wrote (or took credit for it), produced, directed and acted in his own films...a few very memorable, and one, Citizen Kane, a work of genius...for which he had his balls cut off by Hearst.

I'm sort of doing the same...I produce my own monuments, I direct them, I write the script as I go along, and I star in the production. What Nimrod and the Jackster tried to do would be akin to MGM coming in at the last minute and seizing the film from Wells for opening night at their own theater, and in a way to make it appear that they were instrumental in creating it. He wouldn't have allowed it, not for a moment.

I told Nimrod and the Jackster that I didn't care what happened the day after the unveiling...that these were public monuments after all and the public had the final rights to them. The day after the unveiling Jackie could have pissed on Shumirum for all I cared...instead she crapped all over it before it could even get installed.

How do you explain to these people, whose idea of class is a dark Mercedes, that opening night, of all nights, is when you DON'T interfere.

Instead Jackie wants her own brother to sing for us...like I have to agree to "share" the moment with not only Jackie, who will convince you all that I helped her make the Shumirum...but her family has to be brought into the act as well...or else I ain't greateful enough. Grateful for what?

I never asked her to put the monument in San Jose...it was her idea. I couldn't wait to get out of here and to Mexico, yet I postponed our move by five months so I could get the piece installed...and lost a whole bunch more money when she stopped me from selling at the convention.

These people are so damn selfish, so intent on serving themselves, that they think I'm made from the same cheap stuff, so the best way to get back at me, is to stop the monuments. Like no one else stands to benefit from a monument we install in a major city that will be up there for as long as this country endures.
