I love America, I love Samoans, I love Ethiopians and I love Assyrians. I don't mean I want to cuddle up with all of them...I mean I know there can be no lasting peace or security or justice for my children until there is the same for their children.
If I was stuck on a raft at sea with a Jew...I would love the hell out of him. We are all of us stuck on a fragile planet adrift in the Universe. The sooner we recognize it and act accordingly, the better chances will be that the planet, and we, will survive.
At heart...before someone makes an Assyrian or a Jew or an Italian out of us...we are all born babies. There is no way I could walk through a maternity ward and pick out which babies are worthy, which have a right to be loved and protected...and which are expendable. By the same criteria that I exclude some babies...someone will exclude mine.
No thank you...that kind of an Assyrian, I am not.
