Who would have dared to accuse President Lyndon Johnson of lying to the American people in order to get 55,000 young Americans killed in Vietnam back when he did it? It would have been unthinkable...unimaginable...suicidal to even hint at such a thing. Who now wants to stand up and say that Bush was eagerly hoping that something like 9/11 would happen? Who's going to admit that the United States has been desperate for "enemies" since the Clod War ended...who will own up to the fact that the United States has trained and chosen and protected these "rogues" for a rainy day...a day when distractions and fears and paranoia would be needed...a day now when we would need to see and feel an actual threat...not another lie like the Gulf of Tonkin incident.

Did Americans say or do anything about the truth behind Johnsons's lie? No. Too embarrassed probably, we let it all slip by us. And yet here we are again itching to believe these fools who are so obviously manipulating us and playing us for the fools we can't seem to help being.

But some day in the future...there will be a report or an addmission that the government not only knew a lot more...knew enough...but that it actively worked to bring an attack against us about. You'll see.
