It wasn`t the "people"...they get stuck with the bill long after the dictator of choice...the one who promises to do as told...signs on the dotted line...distributes the majority of the money among his cronies...then bolts for Europe.
It`s a way of enslaving people and buying up their resources for the forseable future and for a pittance.
If people would make raising safe and healthy families their priority...of treating the unfortunate fairly..of looking forward to personal riches rather than material wealth...no country would need that much more than what nature blest it with.
We see the rich and sagging...see their palaces and cars and each of us wants a chance at it...and this keeps us yearning and sacrificing and slaving...and all the time we make gobs of wealth for a few...while they toss some extra coins our way.
How many people own their goodies...have the time to enjoy them...the peace of mind to dwell on them...the connection to their children, parents and each other that really makes life worth living?
Instead we go after more of the hair of the dog that bit us.
