Vienna Talks on the Resumption of Weapons Inspections

Representatives of the United Nations and Iraq will be conferring in Vienna later this morning about the resumption of weapons inspections. The discussions will focus primarily on logistics, such as the landing sites for planes, the use of transport vehicles, and the places of stay of inspectors. UN weapons chief Hans Blix and others will speak for the United Nations. The Iraqi delegation will be led by Amir Al-Sadi, an advisor of Saddam Hussein. If both parties reach an accord, inspections can begin on October 15th.

The European foreign ministers will also be meeting this morning - in Brussels. They are expected to discuss the tougher UN resolution on Iraq proposed by the United States and Great-Britain.
