The testing still continues to this day... my friend who used to work for the defense industry says that this testing was to only be mentioned at work & kept from the US public's eye.

By the way, the link to that last article is: http://eve.enviroweb.org/perspectives/issues/nuclear.html
Forgot to include it.

Missile defence and Kwajalein Atoll

America's use of Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands to test its missile defence system continues to anger PCRC. Various initiatives are undertaken to highlight concerns and raise awareness on the issue. PCRC has long lobbied Pacific Island governments to put the issue on the agenda of their annual Pacific Island Forum meeting and regularly submits briefing papers to Forum leaders. Media releases and action alerts condemning missile defence tests are also regularly issued. This August t he lobbying proved successful, with Fiji's Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase, speaking out for the first time against missile defence tests at the opening of the 33rd Forum leaders meeting. Nauru quickly followed Fiji's lead, condemning US tests at the UN General Assembly in September.
