‘Mabreta T’Umta Bish Ila Chatun
Min Mabreta T’ Dinii’
(‘Re-Invention of a Nation
Is More Complex Than Re-Invention of the World’)

PROLOGUE
“A God lives in a Temple
A King lives in a Palace
A Man lives in a House
A Man without a House is not a Man.
A Man without a Nation is same as a Nation without a Man.”
[An Assyrian Proverb]

LEGALITY
A name change in a nation is a common occurrence. However, the same is not whenever a nation goes through a name change without a conquest, total depopulation, or befalls to the state of anarchy.

Literally speaking, a name change is forced as well as forged.

There is no record that Assyria is conquered, totally depopulated, or is in a state of anarchy.

Then, why is it that some Assyrians are embracing the idea of seeing Assyria re-invented?

RE-INCARNATION
The title of this thesis is indicative of the notion that it would be easier to re-invent the world than a nation.

Every thinking person has a world of its own. Every animal has a world of its own. A man changes his habitat to his taste to meet his necessary provisionary elements. An animal is content with whatever the nature has endowed it.

A man’s philosophy of his ego, although not stagnant, is re-inventive in increments of mobility and thought. He perceives deliberate venues for changes that possess his tastes and desires. He forfeits his modes of operation, his way of thinking, his manners, his habitats, his customs, and even, his desires. But, he cannot forfeit his nature. He cannot forfeit his physical being. He cannot forfeit his blood.

No matter what changes a man goes through, he shall always remain what he was at his inception, and what he was not at his pre-inception.

A man cannot simply re-incarnate himself. Yet, if in the future by sheer theories of science such a man is successful even in this field, that man that he re-incarnates shall not be the same man as he planned, because that same re-incarnation shall take place in the future. Meaning, the re-incarnated man shall be always in the future, whereas the creator shall be shadowing him.

FORCE MAJEURE
A nation such as Assyria, with numerous denominations of faith, with numerous cultural backgrounds, with numerous schools of thought, yet totally without a land is NOT capable to sustain any of its vital traits of survival.

If a Palestinian, whose customs, language, religion, habitat and all else is dissimilar in totality with his neighbors the Arabs, decided to drop the nomenclature ‘Palestinian’, by what means would he be trying to attain a country at the expense of the State of Israel?

A Palestinian has to maintain he is a Palestinian, an indigenous citizen of the land he is claiming as his own. He insists on being known as a Palestinian, because the land he is claiming was and is known as Palestine.

How can, an Assyrian claim Assyria, when he placates his name ‘Assyrian’ for ‘Chaldeoassyrian’, and assays to post claim on the land, which was Assyria?

A parable of converting a garage into a livery stable, while parking the Rolls Royce on the street, is quite apt to describe and to ascertain the action entertained by October 24-26 Baghdad Conference.

But, worst than that, how can a thinking person dismiss this notion?

Hence, by deduction, the following conclusion is in place:

1. The elements of Assyria that have encompassed, and have advocated the idea of the name change from Assyria to Chaldeoassyria have ulterior motives.

2. The Signatories and their followers are not in any way, naïve, fanatics or illiterate. Most of them have, at one time or another, been members of various Assyrian associations, and some of them are still members of the same or other associations. Some are Administrators, Archivists, Attorneys, Doctors, Scholars, Teachers, Writers, and even one or two philosophers.

3. They are members of such associations as ‘The Assyrian American League’, ‘Assyrian Academic Society’, ‘American Assyrian National Federation’, ‘Bet-Nahrain Democratic Organization’ [not to be confused with the U.S. political party bearing a somewhat similar name this political entity has its branches in Iraq, and Australia], ‘Assyrian Democratic Organization’ [some of its members, so far], ‘Assyrian Universal Alliance’, and ‘Assyrian Democratic Movement’.

There should be no doubt on anybody’s mind that this alliance is definitely at a behest some primal force.

CONCLUSION
An order from a higher authority is submission to that same authority. Submission results in capitulations. This capitulation catapulted in reneging, and forsaking Assyria.

In the face of all of the above:
]
Assyria is defiant.
Assyria is combative.
Assyria is formulating an indomitable platform.
Assyria demands no more, and, no less, than an Administrative Geographic Region, in the name of ‘Assyria’ proper.
This Region is, to be viewed as equal to that of the Kurds on the political arena, however, not equal to geographic dimensions of the latter.
