That farago of idiocy, brutality, perversion with here and there a minor gem that shines all the brighter for its dullwitted and yes even "typically brutal" setting...small gems at which people grab desperately to relieve the tedious hornswaggle the whole thing is. If anything could be clearer it's that those few gems hardly belonged to the same people who provided the unrelentingly idiotic, when not insane, backdrop...them Humpin' Hebrews again.

Consider the simpleminded duplicity in their taking over our Flood Epic and transforming Utnapishtim into a Noah and making of that desolate crapping ground with its one sorry-assed "river" a place that couldn't get it's feet wet let alone flood. Their having lifted just that story from us...never mind the Sargon/Moses episode or the Creation Epic...shows how distressingly obvious it was to them as well that they weren't terribly original in anything close to the sublime, poetical or even reasonable.

If they lifted just those few...couldn't even come up with their own fantastical tales to describe phenomena they obviously hadn't put much thought into, not as much as they did into how many different ways to slit an animal's throat, or a child's...then what else did they steal? The Commandments maybe? Refer to Hammurabi and you'll find them there...and what the Great Amorite King of Babylon didn't set down...passed on to him from the Sumerians and Akadians...was added by the Hurrians, Assyrians, Kassites and Babylonians...both Old and Neo. And even the "fine" points in the New Testicle came through the additional courtesy of Egypt and Greece. On their own them Hebrews made as sorry a spectacle as ever needed a Messiah to get them out of the sheepshit they were wallowing in...when we had purple and gold..."damn us".
