Farid,

>Believing things like..."God died for ME...God would even think of such a thing for ME...God sacrificed himself for ME...self-sacrifice as a way to show LOVE"...these are the very things that unhinge people. There's no reason in the world why such a thing should be necessary to prove "love" in the first place. But the corker is to believe that it isn't "A" God but GOD...one and only, sets the stage for all the mischief hell has brought us.

Always the same old thing with you, isn't it? There's this bit of yours that I just don't get: the connection between Christian belief and immoral behavior. How does this work:

Some guy: "I believe there is one God."

- later -

Same guy: "Man, do I feel like killing some children!"

What? How does belief in one God cause behavior ANY different than belief that "there's a bunch of gods, but mine is the BESTEST!"??? You really don't think anyone in Babylon thought Marduk was on their side? He was the best god of ALL! He even CREATED THE WHOLE WORLD!!!

And the love thing: how does THAT work?

Another guy: "God loves me, as is indicated by his act of creation and his sacrifice on the cross."

- later -

Same other guy: "Whoo boy! I sure could go for some baby-brains right about now!"

What's the connection? What about being loved by God causes people to become
immoral? Does being loved make people feel excused for doing horrible things? If anything, it makes us more ashamed of doing them.

But there I go again, being arrogant enough to tell YOU what MY faith means to ME. I apologize. Please, Farid, enlighten me. Tell me what the Cross REALLY means to me.

>You don't live in a shoebox...though you scuttle back and forth from one Christian "safe-house" to another like any member of an underground...you live in the world with a whole lot of other people who also have this god-sickness and while you may never personally harm a child...except by spreading your little peculiarities around...those you work for are pissing all over our planet trying to see who has the largest dick. It would be like saying you're a GOOD Nazi, or Republican or Democrat and have nothing to do with what the bad ones are up to...."but here's my donation".

It's true that I have mainly Christian friends - but how many live at YOUR house, as long as we're talking about shoeboxes?

An "underground?" I've asked you this before: Just where is this enormous world of atheists and agnostics that I'm hiding from? It seems like if there's ANY exclusive club, it's people without religion. Sure, two-thirds of the people in the world have a different religion than I do...but they ALL have a different religion than you.

>they can't handle it...what's it got to do with me? And it just may be that this belief of yours is partly intended to set you apart, litteraly elevate you, above the common crowd who can't handle its daily dose of God the way you can.

You're an odd man. The "common crowd," ALL of it, has a religion - and likes it. If ANYone is setting themselves apart, it's those of you - those few - who sneer at the religions that have always been there from your towers that were built for the first time only a few hundred years ago - just when things started getting REALLY violent.

>You're part of a deadly dangerous institution that's in deadly competition with other deadly institutions and you want to say, "I'm happy...I don't kill anyone...where's the problem?" You people are fouling the air everywhere and yet you say, "If we didn't do it someone else would so leave us alone". That isn't moral, it's opportunistic.

When have I ever said anything like that?

> How do you know people would be as deadly without this god-business?

It is hard to tell...after all, there has ALWAYS been "god-business."

>Assyrians never starved the children of their enemies to death...the armies met and fought. They didn't single out the children...yet the Christian country you were born in and you work for...whose citizen's "souls" you're going to try to wash clean, are increasingly turning to out and out barbarism and insanity and placing it all at God's feet. You can cry about it all you want to...tell them they're living in "error"...but so what? The Nazis had priests too...you guys were blessing the bombs being sent to kill each other's flocks with...you too believed in enemy flocks. And part of it is that you believe in ritual murder...your religion begins with it...and you call that murder an act of "Love"...a proof of LOVE...and you believe sacrifice is the greatest part of Love.

There you go again. What's the connection between Christ's sacrifice and dropping a bomb on a sleeping child? Even IF so-called "Christian" countries happen to be more violent than others (which I don't believe for a second - but then you're the only objective historian still alive, so I should take your word for it), it doesn't mean anything for the Christian faith.

>You SAY you mean sacrifice of yourself by that...but I don't see any evidence that you're sacrificing a damn thing...you're being supported, however meagerly and there's only one of you...you have no children to care for...not even a dog or cat and yet you're being fed and housed and clothed...the things you value the most are being provided for you...

Odd...when did this become about me? What's the point of this?

>entire village from which to choose sexual partners. What the hell is this asshole "sacrificing"? It seems to me the village and the people in it are being sacrificed FOR HIM.

Asshole indeed.

Your tv pal,

Andy
