Farid,

>never hope to see beyond. The mind I have, which can't balance a checkbook or figure out Calculus can't POSSIBLY know the unknowable. People, like yourself, who can't figure much of anything out here on earth, have somehow managed to measure the infinite. That's humility?

This is your first point, I think, summed up. Of course, if I believe I'd figured it all myself - or that anyone had - you'd be right. It'd be the height of arrogance. Of course, one can take no credit for being told something - the Jews are "God's people" in the Bible only because he chose them - the brattiest of his children - and not because they earned it. There's no reason to even bring humility and arrogance into the question.

>But all this stuff aside

I'll agree to that...as I said, we've been down the "believability" argument enough to know that t'other ain't gonna be convinced neither way. The real question, the interesting question, is "does Christianity cause immorality?"

>there's the question of the institution you belong to...holy roly poly mother church. It could be argued that a good man or woman will be corrupted by a corrupt institution where he or she might not be corrupted by Life.

True enough. No one needs the Church in order to be bad. There was plenty bad before it...and before the Jews...and there's plenty of bad that those who reject Christianity have done - but I don't need you to explain them.

> If you worked for a pharmaceutical company that made a medicine that cured a million people but killed 10,000 out of every million, you'd be put out of business by the government, if not in jail. There'd be no way you could argue..."Just step back from the dead ones hanging from the roof and see the good we do for thousands of people...stop focusing on the dead ones". You can't get away with that kind of crap anywhere but in your trade.

The question is whether the dead ones were killed by the drug or the virus it was made to destroy.

>Besides that...how would you feel about it personally? You've already said, as you guys all do, that this one isn't a "real" Christian and that one "got it wrong" and the other one is "fooling people" or hiding behind religion and those ten million were "misguided" etc. There comes a time when you add up
...
up a little". You people NEVER control yourselves. You, personally, might...though it costs you a good deal...but that isn't what makes your church the biggest corporation in history and damn well the bloodiest entity the earth has ever seen. And DON'T tell me about the "good" the church does. Vegas casinos give out more wealth, as a percentage of the gate, than the church does.

Give me a break, Farid. "You people NEVER control yourselves." "the bloodiest entity the earth has ever seen." "ten million misguided." What the hell are you talking about? You're honestly willing to place ALL the blame for EVERYTHING that's ever been evil in Christian history, and give NONE of the credit for all that is good, on a single institution? And how? "The good ones would have been good anyway." Maybe you should ask them - that's right, ask any given Christian whether his or her faith makes a positive effect on his or her life. Then when they say "yes," you can enlighten them about themselves. Good luck.

>How long can a "moral man"...one who aspires to be "like Christ", go on serving such an institution and claiming the slime doesn't wash over him as well? You want to do good...do good. What insitution did Jesus join? Who's word did he take for anything? Did he believe Jew fishermen? You're following the example of those whom Jesus upset...not Jesus. You've attached yourself to an insitution and want to work from "within"...like trying to clean up la Cosa Nostra. You know...I know...the pope knows...we all know that Jesus would abhor your church and what's been done in his name and they'd kill him all over again.

The slime is there with or without the Church. The question is whether being a Christian makes one slimier...and if so, how.

>My point is, nobody "got it wrong" but you and a few others like you. The church that made Jesus up got it EXACTLY right. This is a religion born in murder and human sacrifice and you're recruited to come along to tell me it's already done...that it was a gift and I should have no qualms about accepting the guys liver and skin cause he's dead anyway so where's the harm? You're being used to CORRUPT people...not to save them but to save the church's ass. The "harm" is that your followers are primed and ready to see other inncoent people killed and to go out and kill them and your function is to bless the whole bloody thing and "absolve" those you are "troubled" in their souls so they can sleep better and go out and kill some more...as well as to lure young children into the fold to keep up a steady suppy of "wrong Christians" the church has depended on all it's corrupt life. Either that or you want to sing somewhere off in a corner and say..."who me...I don't belong to THAT part of the church".

What institution HASN'T ashamed itself by what its done at some point? Communism? DEMOCRACY? AMERICA??? Are you willing to throw every institution in the garbage because of the flaws that are inherent in EVERYTHING human beings touch?

>These crimes against us all are being committed by people who share your faith..people who look forward to the same heaven you do.

So what? If you found out that Manson was a Green or liked Led Zeppelin, would you change yourself just because of him? Oh, I forgot...Zeppelin CAUSES people to murder.

I see there's other thingys to reply to. See you there.

Your tv pal,

Andy
