You've been reading too many Jewish versions of our history.

The Assyrians never murdered innocent men, women and children during a campaign. In fact during their first conquest of a village the Assyrians having conquered the army would allow the inhabitants to stay provided a pro-Assyrian ruler was foud to rule over the newly captured city.

If this newly appointed leader was foolish enough to destablisise the empire and initiate a revolt then the Assyrian army would again return and conquer the city. This time the ring leaders and the chieftains reponsible for the spilling of so much blood would be made an example of. They would be either flayed, or executed in front of theentire population as a lesson for others not to repeat.

These same tactics were used on the borders of the Assyrian Empire but in addition whole populations were forcefully resettled into the middle of the Assyrian Empire where they quickly assimilated and became Assyrians. In fact a cuneiform tablet clearly states the King's explicit orders to his general who had just completed the conquest of a city. It stated to him, "See that youy are not negligent in the conduct of the prisoners and that they have enough provisions to make their journey. If they suffer or die you will payfor it with your life!"

Please don't ever compare us with the ancient Jews who would kill the men, women, children and even animals of those they conquered, but of course they were justified in doing that as Yawheh.com told them to do it. Just ask my cousin Paul.
