In some sort of sick sense, I'm almost glad we had that fiasco with the INS registration a while back, causing so many people to get locked up in jail. I think it's helping the Iranian-American community to create bonds with the Arab-American community (which was itself greatly divided, as there are all sorts of ethnic "snobs" in that community - Lebanese vs. Saudi vs. Egyptian vs. Palestinians vs. Syrians vs. Christians vs. Muslims vs. etc.). We all struggle together, so we might as well join together to fight for the same civil liberties & for the causes of our neighboring homelands. The Asian Americans already do this.
