No no no. The Cross is not the only thing Christ did to show us love, and it's not the only reason to love him or anyone. It isn't standard - it's superfluous and extraordinary and amazing. Christ gave us EVERYTHING he had: his wisdom and his patience and his graces, and even his very life - and then asked us to do the same for others, with his help. How does wanting to do that make anyone a bad person?
