It just never made any sense to me...this contention that Christians were being abused and murdered in Ottoman Turkey. Western scholars who aren't tied to their Church apronstrings admit the only real gentlemen in Mideaval times were the Ottoman Turks...and it's true they were the only people to try to accomodate all three bloody sisters...and also that the millet system was a most unusual way to provide some autonomy for people of different ethnic or religious groups. Of course there must have been abuses...but so what else is new? We can imagine what a Superpower united Africa would think of the United STates and Britain for what they've done to their lands especially the way they continue to persecute and execute Americans of African descent...now THERE'S cause for some Human Rights outrage...right in America itself.

It certainly does seem that our religious folk threw their lot in with Western Chrstianity every chance they got...and the Westerners knew just which buttons to push to get us day-dreaming. Even the famous Ahga Petrous may well have been nothing more than an upstart rebel who's people paid the price. No other country in the world do or expect to do, what we say the Ottomans HAD to do as the West circled round them for the kill.

The fuzziest thing about us is this claim to persecution and a Genocide no less...and then the additional lunacy that Iraq is owed to us because we're the only real Assyrians...meaning that to be a real Assyrians you have to betray your nation...run to those who would attack it...be of only one religion...who's co-religionists are hankering for the lands of your nation...and for being thrown out claim that this constituted the ULTIMATE and incontrovertible proof that you MUST BE Assyrian. Huh?

And of course we're at it again. Whatever ZOWAA was it's now taking the place of the Levies...and we'll once again put our foolish and fond hope in Chistians when no one BUT the Muslims ever provided a unified home base for us. What kind of unity do we have now? We can't even back a simple monument in America or do better than split into idiotic politial parties made up of three cousins and a dog...and we want a country...we talk about Democracy? We want a corner surrounded by pissed as hell Muslims...to be underwritten by the same people who blinded Majdolin???

We're in no position to ask for anything...no Federated Republic bullshit. That's a recipe for Balkinization wghich would certainly suit America's purposes just fine. The Christians left in Iraq are Iraqi citizens...cry about all they want to...all they have to do is play the part and take whatever good or bad comes to ALL the people of Iraq. That's why these efforts to single out Chrisians for "help" is as mistaken now as it was before.

You want to help the Christians...you have to help the Muslims and all the people there...you want to help all the people then get the United States and Britain to get off their back and stop using the MidEast as they used and abused Latin America all those years...leaving it too in chaos they then "loan" money to to clear up.

New York wouldn't accept a donation from a Saudi prince to help with the aftermath of 9/11 because the money was tainted. Well what's the money Narsai and the AAS send back there if not far more tainted. Blood money anyone?
