There once was this queen named Sadie, who ruled a vast Finnish empire.

She was a sagacious queen, and very fair, both in justice and physical appearance.

One day these thieves from neighboring Persia, decided to steal from her castle.

So they crossed the border from Persia into Finland, and upon walking across a lentil bean farm, run by none other than a man named Alexander, they were afrighted.

Once they saw Alexander's size and muscles, they thought "If this is the type of people who they have as farmers, just imagine what they have for warriors!"

But nonetheless, they proceeded on in Finland, toward Sadie's castle....

When they arrived, they snuck in through a window, and climbed up the stairs to her bed quarters....

They entered the hallway to the quarters, and encountered a stout guard.

So they stood still, and waited as the guard took off his helmet....

And it was none other than Alexander himself,

When they saw that, they said to each other "If this is who guards her hallway, just imagine who fights in her army...."

They managed to trick him though, by giving him a bowl of lentil soup to eat.

Alexander sat down happily to eat his lentil soup while they proceeded on toward Sadie's bedroom....

Well, they managed to steal from her bedroom all the valuable jewels her chests contained, and horded them into bags.....

They proceeded out the hallway, and past Alexander who was still busy eating his bowl of lentil soup

They snuck out of the castle, and made their way toward Persia, just over the border from Finland...

They made it home safely, and for a long time no one knew what had happened to Sadie's jewels.

Well, one day, Sadie found out who had stolen her jewels, so she sent her army into neighboring Persia to attack the thieves and their villages.

The army proceeded through Finnish, and then Persian, territory.

As it approached the villages where the thieves lived, the thieves came out of their houses

Only to see an army of Alexanders coming at them.....

On sight of this they took to flight, and never returned to this part of Persia.

The army proceeded to take Persian territory, until the border of Persia was pushed back to the modern border of Iran, where it remains to this day, and that is the story of Sadie and the 39 Thieves.
