T'is worse than ye ever "thought" ...

Freddy, ye rot - sorry "wrote":

" Andy...I don't want to hold you up to ridicule. I think it speaks well that you would even go this far and on a public forum too. That's the last bit of moral fiber our glorious Heritage left with you... though it's drowning under all that Jew-crap you've loaded onto it...but it's there ...."

Obviously ye'r acting on the premise that there is a REAL difference between Andy's affiliation to Christianity (bad, bad!) and his being an Assyrian (great, glorious!).

This way you want to spark sort of inner conflict in him, to put him in a dilemma:

THAT'S PSYCHOLOGICAL BLACKMAIL !

EVEN IF there was any such antagonism between Christianity and nowaday "Assyrism" at any time - then strategically well placed arguments could be fired to trigger a whole avalanche of a solid and compact case rolling over you that it was really damn better back then to follow the upward evolution of mankind, to develop and to get ... Christian, or at least to have a try at that.

As this aspect is not my primary concern now, I leave for later for all those who may be interested.

BUT it's worse than ye ever "thought":

There is NO such anatagonism, just the opposite:

Christianity is the ONLY + REAL constitutive, generative and formative factor and criterion that brought this Assyrian people (nation?) of today to life in the first place, at all.

Todays "Assyrians" (no mocking intended) are successors/heirs of the Middle Eastern Christianised peoples of all sort and colours and inshots and ethnical crossings etc.
How many real "ancient real Assyrians" are in this gene pool, well that's a matter now of guesswork and to be left for later solid research.

In any case that's NOT essential, NOT generative and NOT formative and NOT crucial in any other way.

Fred,

One should not play with these things.
Too many young Assyrians want to have honest, substantial, correct and well-informed and well-informing answers.

We may err and falter - but we should always be on a honest quest to find and and pass them to all those who are also on a honest quest.

It is utterly unfair to put recklessly this search of young Assyrians for their identity on the line only for e.g. YOUR getting some very cheap propaganda gains.

Do you remember what I told ye earlier - and I'm sure I am not the only one to have found that one out which is only confirming my case:

Nationalism is NOT the LAST refuge of a scoundrel but his FIRST one.

This time we speak about Assyrian nationalism and Assyrian national mythologies.

Andreas
