Just what is his crime? He was a head of State elected by his people...more than you can say for Bush right there. What president of what country HASN'T killed his own people and others as well? Johnson's lies led to 55,000 dead Americans for nothing and three million dead Vietnamese also for nothing except for money and power. Where does it say Iraq can't ever reclaoim Kuwait..a non-country invented by the British as part of their old game? How did he behave in ANY differently than any leader of Britain or France or Spain? Which of them has hands clean enough to wash them over Saddam?

Ruling those countries is difficult...look at the trouble the US is having and they have all the biggest guns in the world. The conflicting religious and ethnic forces, which the United States and Britain before her have used and exacerbated would make it an impossible task under the best of circumstances. The Shah had it rough and so did Saddam. The malcontents were always there with religion as a goad to be used by those who would cripple those countries and keep them from enlarging their wealth and maybe buying Disneyland one day.

Under Saddam Iraq had excellent medical care...free and excellent education and the country was prospering as never before...and THAT was the problem...not only for Iraq but the rest of them as well.

The United States is dotted with mass graves too...with the bodies of men and women lynched and wrongly executed...with black children killed by bombs and dogs set loose on peacefull demonstrators. The United States has more blood on its hands than any other country in the last 50 years...certainly more than Iraq ever had.

After the First World War Uncle Sam refused to pay benefits to veterans of that war and kept on refusing till they organized a march on Washington to ask for what was promised them by law. They came from all over the country to set up a disciplined camp on the Green. They elected representatives and met with Congress and after a few weeks the army was unleashed on them...the same army they'd just served in and their camp wasd destroyed and many were killed and wounded and arrested. The rest ran back home. Dwight Eisenhower was in that Army that attacked the Army...so was Douglas MacArthur and many an other American "hero". And we're describing the self-acclaimed "Democracy" that would save the world...not a "backward" Arab country.

Where do we , of anybody on earth, get off condemning Saddam? The photos of him made me sick..sick at the United States for its duplicity. This poor shmuck was used by them for as long as it suited them and now they act as if he's anybody's monster but theirs.

We have been lied to from the beginning and it's only getting worse. But then the more fantastic the lie...the more likely that it's TRUE. Ask Andy.

Let My People Go...and get the fuck out of BetNahrain.
