In Argentia there is a generation of children whose parents were killed by the Military and adopted by the murderers. They grew up fully believing these were their real parents and all those extended family members also their own. They learned the values and tastes of the people who murdered their own parents...tastes and values very different from those the children were born with or into.

Recently there`s been mention of several of these children, now adults, searching for their real families...trying to discover a truth that`s bound to be painful in every conceivable way..at first. But most of them, in fact the vast majority, would rather leave things as they are and never discover who actually killed their own parents..for it might be the same person they`ve called Father all their lives.

Most of the orphanned children went to higher ranking officials and lived well-to-do and even privileged childhoods..far different than they would have known as the children of radical college students and other opponents of the military regime that brutalized their class. In that sense most of the children were better off financially. Coupling that and the advantages they received as a result...with the prospect of having their entire lives proved to have been based not only on fraud but the advantages they received from murder..and murder of their own natural parents..as I said..most opted to leave well enough alone... if that`s what they think it will be for their future.

If Paul Younan was one of these children he`d struggle all his life to discover a limited truth...he`d want to know who was the ACTUAL person who shot his father dead...and love HIM..and not any measely substitute.

It`s interesting to speculate on what would make some people want to know and others not want to. No?
