needing to take a break from all their labors...the boys have decided to brush up their bona fides...as Christians. It`s amazing they got away this long with this "we are the only Assyrians because we aren`t". That`s why they stay locked in their forums that aren`t and hide in huts...to them venturing out is sending an email of their Syriac manuscripts as press releases from Bedlam to the wurld..yo let them know Christians are hiding out in the ruins of Assyria they, more than anyone, helped ruin.

It gives them the greatest joy to imagine they are "in" with Bush..like it thrils them to list Assyrian Kings as "their" kings. They`re screwed either way though...if they stay hidden...we`re going to define what Assyrian is...if they come forward with their balmy definition...they`re going to make fools of themselves in public...something we already know they can`t abide.

Either way it`s the end of Christians in BetNahrain...and thank Ashur for it too. Let them go to Jerusalem and pray all day.

In Response To: Assyrian FAQ updated (Peter BetBasoo)

Peter,

Great resource.

I would only add Mar Shimun Keepa to the line of the Church of the East before Mar Thoma and Mar Addai. (c.f., 1Peter 5:12). St. Simon Peter founded the church in Babylon (in the Jewish getto called "the huts", in a church called the "Church of Khuqy (huts)".)

...them boys never could get enough of huts...meanwhile the Muslims would go on to build the Alhambra...the Muslim Assyrians that is.

Rome, of course, claims that what is meant by 1Peter 5:12 is actually Rome. This is, of course, ridiculous. Why didn't Paul address his epistle to the "Babylonians", in that case?

Peter was the Apostle to the Jews, and outside of Palestine, the concentration of Jews in Babylon was the greatest of anywhere in the world.

The history of Mar Shimon Keepa being in Babylon can be found in such works as the "Book of the Bee" by Mar Shleemon of Basorah. (I believe.)

The Church of the East has a Petrine Apostolic succession.
