Perhaps that's what Bush really wants: by "exposing" the few federal institutions that do serve in the public interest as supposed frauds (because of the people he puts in charge of those institutions), he basically destroys public faith in those institutions. Then, instead of suggesting more corporate regulation at the hands of those federal institutions or suggesting policies that correct for the corruption in those federal institutions, the Bush administration suggests policies that basically increase deregulation of federal institutions.... SO, the end result is really destruction of those federal institutions that protect the poor & the environment from corporate destruction, while his administration funnels the remaining money into corporate welfare, esp. through the military (which basically keeps the weapons industries going)....
