Silence in the Nation

...it might help soften the blows if you saw it for what it is to start with...it hasn`t a single characteristic of a "nation". What it is, is what it has been...a bunch of Christian denominations each trying furiously to be the only real traitors to Ashur and loyalists to Yahwe. Unpleasant perhaps but true.

As I am going back through my emails to find something, anything on any hint of what we were given yesterday with the announcement of the new government, I came across an email and started reading again. I had to smile as I read it, thinking back when it was originally sent.

..."we" weren`t given anything..we`ve made sure to not only "not count"..but to be distrusted...for if there are enough Muslims on the CIA`s payroll...who needs some that are ALSO on the church`s payroll? With the greatest good luck Iraqi Christians can be tolerated..but when they start demanding triangles based on Christ...it just goes too far.

We all had a dream, a vision, a focus for what might have been of the Assyrian nation and those words echoed in my mind of how true they were.

...maybe you and the Levies and those who led us into Simele had these dreams and visions..but those of us wide awake and living in this reality knew better all along.

But now, as I surf the forums or the links, there is an utter silence from our people.
Whether they are in shock or not, I cannot be sure of. But, one thing I can be sure of and that is the unfolding truth and how we as Assyrians have been dealt the joker in the card pile.

...you`ve no doubt surfed this site...but you don`t like what you read. You people are indeed the jokers..as in you must be kidding when you claim that the only Assyrians anywhere have to be Christians and this makes them even more Assyrian..coupled with the fact that the only criterion is talkingalot and then of course dreaming and wishing...is it any wonder?

I am wondering what is going on in the minds of our people. The Assyrians, not knowing what was missed. Not knowing whether the organization in which they supported was the true one. Not knowing whether or not their leaders are true to the cause. Clinging to the Chaldeans for the sake of unity, to gain positions and power in our homeland against the kurds. All this while the Kurds hold 6 majority seats and Assyrians hold one which is under the kurdish region.

...if you would stop refering to yourselves as Assyrians and just said Iraqi Christians...you`ll see why you have nothing. The number of Christians left in Iraq and who will be left there after the Americans leave is so minor a thing as to count for anything anywhere.

The Chaldeans, wondering whether they won or lost here. Clinging to the Assyrians for the same reasons, betraying at times our own people for all the wrong reasons.

...did you all betray Ashur for the right reasons? If so, then your Jew god should have done a little of what our Assyrian god did for us...instead you`re stuck lamenting what betraying Ashur led to..all the while you still praise and cling to the Jew one. Go figure.

...because noise is all you make and you`ve said everything 100 times over and still haven`t learned that talking is only noise and gets you nothing...especially when it`s such nonsense. What did it ever get you but more of the same nothing? You have to actually DO and BUILD to get anywhere.

I think of the African-Americans and if they were dealt such a card, how many of them would be racing the streets right now, shouting to the AFLCIO and the NAACP, crying out that justice was not done. Jesse Jackson all over the news....

...I don`t think you mean labor unions. Afro-Americans never called on Libya to come save them...neither did they talk..motivated by what is real and not merely fanciful, they put their necks literally on the line...they marched, they demonstrated, they were attacked by dogs, they were killed and burned and jailed...they boycotted and worked the streets..and more than anything, as in South Africa, they refused to engage in the kinds of revenge fantasies you Christians do...they forgave and concentrated on moving on..even with all the liabilities they stiff face...you people have been crying and whining and wishing death to people and wanting their homes because these spurious claims that Iraq belongs to Christians because they are the indigenous religion....and their religion is their one basic claim to being Assyrian..which is absurd. And even if it were true...nowhere on earth have people been given "back" their land...unless you`re thinking of the Jews whose experience in the world is entirely different from yours...who, as Christians, have the entire world open to you...something the Jews didn`t enjoy.

What happened to the Assyrians? Where are we? Why cant our voices be heard?

..because you are cowards..because you don`t test and exercise your voices to strengthen them as well as your arguments..because you stay hidden and protected by moderators who don`t want anyone being too rough on you, because when you finally do summon up the courage to venture out, your untried and easily disputed "facts" don`t hold up and no one takes you seriously..as I guess you don`t. You behave nothing like Assyrians...who were famous for fearing nothing...then you come demanding protection from WORDS and ideas you can`t handle. You have made yourselves weak and passive and nurtured only your worst aspects. If you can`t tackle me...you`re no match for anyone out in the world.

Are we going to bury ourselves now in songs of oomta and cry when we hear about our lost nation and how many times we were betrayed by different people not our own. Never learning from the first time? I can probably attest to the fact that all of us are creeping in our own skin, not knowing whether if or when there will be another Semele of our people in the homeland. Are we going to be just another chapter in the history books in another 100 years when our great grandchildren can say "Oh I think my great grandmother was assyrian but I am not sure who they were or what they did."

...rest assured, there will be many Simeles..isn`t that what you wanted? In order to force the United States to FINALLY give you boys a safe-haven?

..it already happened long long ago...when you gave up on Ashur and every vestige of being Assyrians...or rather when you refuse to admit that Assyrians could not POSSIBLY have run off in fear to villages in the mountains where they shook and trembled until a Jew came whistling down the road to give them courage. That bit of slander you do yourself..and believe you`re praising yourselves...did away with grandma long ago. You are Christian shells and husks with no core..no substance...that`s why you achieve nothing and fear those of us who can...because so long as it`s words and all for show...you can pass for what you claim to be...but let an Assyrian in the room and you all scatter.

I am not sure if it's too late or not, but we must try. We must leave a legacy for our children and their children.
We must shout to the top of the mountains and cry through the valleys of who we are.

..if you were proud of who you are you would..but you people have succeeded in making the Heritage a laughing stock, the ultimate hiding place for scoundrels and personally inadequate people who rely on the greatness of 4000 years ago to give them a little, a very little polish...yet who deny the god and the religion that made those people what they were...for the one that reduced you people to what you are today. You are still grateful to your rapists and those who raped your mothers...raising these Christian bastard offspring you now try to fob off as the REAL Assyrians. Where`s the mystery?

Now more than ever.....

...sure..but never.

...I didn`t cry about who I am...I worked for twenty years pulling people together from around the world so we could build some pride in action..not words. And the ONLY people to stand in the way were Christians. Once you accept Ashur..like you boys drool for Jesus...once you accept what and how and under whose influence and inspiration Assyrians made their glorious name..you no longer cry..and just talking won`t satisfy. Try it.
