I read where Narsai is having his party to raise money for Christians in Iraq. It's one thing to have to pay taxes for this war and to make up for it by sending band-aids...it's another to keep silent and even condone the war, pay taxes to see it through and ALSO send band-aids. After 9/11 a Saudi prince sent New York ten million to help out..the money was sent back. I should think, according to Paul's take on principles, Iraqi Christians should refuse the money...also on principle.

I say again that Narsai and the self serving bastards who have come up with this way of easing their guilt and/or enhancing their resumes have not ONCE condemned the war that gave them THEIR "golden opportunity". The public relations Narsai has reaped from this are considerable. He used to talk about how much it cost to hire these shills to get your name in the papers...something he knew would move more "product" for him. While it's true he puts in the time...it's still far less expensive than the other way.

It would have been for the "sake" of Christians in Iraq had Narsai and the rest not leapt on the bandwagon with such abandon. How anyone who prides himself on being saavy and sharp could fall for Bush...either one, I don't know. Narsai played both sides of the street, he always does cause people on both sides buy "product". He's a life-long Democrat who loathes the Republican Party...yet he chose the wiser course by supporting the policies that led to this tragedy...with its golen opportunities.

We argued a few times over the liklihood that THIS time the United States was telling the truth about a nation it WANTED an excuse to attack. In all seriousnes Narsai echoed every point Bush made about the dangers of Saddam and how we had to do something to save ALL those pople he was killing.

I say again that Muslims of Iraq have every reason to distrust Christian fundamentalists, especially the ignorant assholes in those villages we so lament. It's from among them more than anywhere else these calls to be SAVED and GIVEN their country back come from..much as in Turkey in 1915 calls were going out to the European Christians to come save those Christians..and we know what the upshot was...same as it is now and will be.

It isn't that ALL the villagers are involved...for the vast majority of our people were well satisfed with their lives in Iraq...it's those few fundamentalists we have on our side, as they have on theirs, who cause the trouble for the rest...THOSE were the targets...and to weep buckets now and want to restore those same villages, especially rebuilding the churches used as madrassahs for hate-mongering...and especially NOW after what Saddam feared would happen, has happened with a vengence and Iraqis see their nation being liberated to death and their future and that of their children stolen from them...well, it's about the most irresponsible thing Narsai could DICLARE to the world as his goal and wish for our dear, poor, kind people back there who provided HIM his own golden opportunity.

ALL Muslims didn't attack America yet ALL Muslims were declared legitimate targets. ALL Christians in Iraq are not fundamentalist villagers...but to Iraqis now ALL Christians have also become a target. Like Joseph and Jajo...Narsai wants a safe target...called a village, where they can put Christians so that over the years of hate and violence to come, infuriated Muslims will know where to go to vent THEIR anger and frustration...and not have to drive here and there looking.

It was for his own sake that he went along in heart and mind with the war..and it is for his own sake he now raises blood money to wash a little guilt away..."here is a church, go be safe"...it is for his own sake that he found this way to bypass the expense of a PR firm to help move "product". But as his aims and motives are shared by the rest of the cheering section for this war, "it's sad but what CAN you do"...they all have the same interest and NO ONE among them is going to challenge the next guy..for this has been a golden oportunity for them all. They can go along and get along...and they can wash a little blood off their hands as they do, replacing it with some of Narsai's own Merlot...which he offers at cost for the sake of Assyrian villages.

And if the bastard uses my sculpture again to reward his visiting chefs, for which he never got my permission told him expressly I did NOT them used...though he went ahead and did it anyway...I'll do more than sue him.

One advantage to telling the truth no matter what price you have to pay...and no mater how ugly the truth, even when it smears you as well...is that people know you wouldn't be shy and use fake names or be afraid of the consequences. Narsai, like Jackie and Nimrod before him never DREAMED I would "bite the hand that feeds me"...they put it in that context because they think of Asyrian arists, as they think of us ALL as martyrs and victims, as charity cases...we NEVER earn anything as Assyrian artists..as Paul said Helen "gave" me money for Shumirum. Narsai would never think he was being GIVEN anything when someone buys a jar of his Chutney Sauce..he knows damn well he EARNED it and you better know it too.

These people have such low self-esteem, as Assyrians, that they can NEVER feel a fair transaction took place when they get your sculpture, or poetry, or music and have to PAY you for it..they always see it as you being needy..and them being more than generous and getting ripped off into the bargain by "giving you" their money for something that really isn't of value..your effort as an Assyrian artist.

No doubt Narsai has received a lot of sympathy and commiseration for my ingratitude for all he GAVE me...with him and everyone offering condolences on my betrayal of HIM, never once addmitting what I GAVE him...or them.

It's Narsai's turn now to tell people, "if you buy sculpture from THAT artist, you are helping someone who is attacking Assyria"...and he'll mean the same thing Jackie Bejan meant...that by telling the truth about THEM, I am attacking THEM and since they are "working for us"...I am attacking US by extention.

Narsai has more reason than most to need soul soap...and I know it and he knows I know it...and like Jackie who also knew I didn't HAVE to lie about her since the truth was enough to do the job...Narasi knows that if it is plain revenge I want, I have enough information that he too wouldn't want to see me in court.

Narsai also is an amateur Assyrian..like they all are. He derives his income and dedicate almost all of his time to making Narsai a success..this Assyrian business, like the foundation I made that HE asked to be president of, is merely icing on his cake. Most of us are used to saying..."well okay, the guy is a skunk and a cheap bastard out for himself...but AT LEAST, he helps a little etc." It's the "at least" part that I have set my sights on. I will no longer tolerate the AT LEAST argument or justification for why these people are so venal, cheap, tacky, self-serving etc. They seek to keep the playing field titlted in their favor,,,structured so that you can be a full and proud Assyrians by doing THE LEAST.

A surgeon doesn't get where she gets by doing the LEAST...and Narsai didn't get where he got by doing the LEAST...but what he offers us is the least he can do...which is considerably more than most can do...but is still his least. No doubt benefits come from that...the problem is in order to make themselves appear to be doing all they can..they engage in acts against our own professionals to keep us from KNOWING they are doing the least, when they remove from sight or trip up those they see are doing their MOST...we become a threat to the status they seek to maintain when we do the BEST we can do.

That's why I say they are amateurs, because it takes the LEAST of their time and concentration. Also why they resent and fear the professional..because they aren't aspiring to that level themselves and the presence of those of us who DO...makes their LEAST look just like what it is, the LEAST they are willing or capabale of doing, for which they want the MOST if not ALL the scope and room and recognition.

So...do NOT give my sculpture away as a gift to help in your blood night and dance from which you will AT LEAST send bandages to heal the wounds for all the bombs you AT MOST sent more of to Iraq than you would EVER have sent anything had you NOT seen what your bombs did.

I won't be a party to the LEAST an Assyrian can do to try to make up for all the harm he helped bring Iraq. Not me. There were no doubt Good Germans...and there were. I don't want to give them sculpture either.
