>Jesus broke the Law..he said there was another God..odd that he should be killed for that..that was clearly against the Roman Law...you were attacking the State, its authrity AND the person of the Emperor...Ghandi was sent to jail too..and there are prisoners of conscience and color in America RIGHT NOW!

*** I think I know what you are getting at that all powerful nations as well as powerful people be they rich, clergy, corporate, political, authorities, have always and will always abuse the system, and Bush did use the fear of 9/11 to enact the unconstitutional Patriot Act with stop terrorism at all costs... I just saw a commercial by the AFCLO on repealing the patriot act for what you are eluding to. Why do I always feel you are accusing me of these things... I am a person who goes to work, plays, lives, and have done nothing to anyone... if you are blaming all us nonpolitical people for being so ignorant that politics got passed that we should have spoken against okay... but what about the injustices that Sadam did in Iraq, far worse than our patriot act, would you justify that to ensure the security of his regime and Iraq... and he was far worse from what I have heard than any patriot act could possibly be with murders, and torture and rape and no due process at all... so yes the patriot act probably did injustice to some innocent people and that is horrible, but it probably also prevent some terrorism... if you justify brutality by Sadam as you have in previous posts, how can you be so critical of this.. I think they are both wrong and I am trying to see all sides but I think in this case you need to see that there were worse wrongs done by Sadam than the patriot act could dream of.

*** common for those who put him through it but if the "story" has any truth, he never got bitter or angry or smiting and that is not common.. heck on these forums someone insults us, lies about us, twists the truth, hurts our ego, and look how we strike back, and he was mocked far worse and pain of crucifiction if the story is true, and he still died as he lived in peace and forgiveness and selflessness... and since hate and vengence and selfishness are what are common, i beg to differ with you that he did not die a common death, although they tried as they might to put him to a common death... but that is the story I was brainwashed with and I still like... we all have our brainwashings, that is mine.

>...you can believe what a handful of Jews in a slum in Alexandria told each other..go ahead. I`m willing to believe that HE believed what he believed to the end...the rest of it is self-serving propaganda that I don`t need to admire him..but I`m not praying to ANY carpenter because five out of work Jews tell me to.

*** I am not praying to him either... I just like the "idea of him" and the spirit of what his teachings have built up in my mind "of him"... if it is delusion or brainwashing, it is the ONLY one that I as an independent individual can live with, just like you are free to live without it. I also like Ghandi, Confucus, Buddha, and others but I worship noone... and probably even you will damn me if I tell you a secret, I don't even worship a God.. I think all this ego driven, needy love me worship me God in religions come from man's ego and need to be worshipped.. I think if there is a God like entity and there must be something that at least started the initial physics boundary conditions and fundamentals, then I don' think it is an anthropomorphic being that thinks and behaves and needs like we humans do... but I know I know nothing... as Lao Tsu said, the more I know, the more I know the less I know, or something to that effect. :)

*** and maybe thats a big hype so guilty can be forgiven but anytime i have not forgiven and gotten upset, like last week, I am tormented and torn up inside that I did not forgive so there has to be something to the fact that we are suppose to forgive... for our sakes if not for the person who trespassed against us or even if not for God.

>
>and the only thing that haunts me is that some of his last words were eloi eloi lama sabacthani... god god why have thou forsaken me... if jesus felt his god forsook him then one, what hope is there for any of us who are not nearly as perfectly good and kind and forgiving, and two, if he is god as the christianity i grew up in says, why is he calling to God and asking why he was forsaken... did God give up on all of us that day??? the world sure looks that way.

>..this is a deep question you should put to the Easter Bunny this year...or if you happen to catch a Tooth Fairy, run it by him. I don`t know such answers.

*** it was a facetious questions for i don't believe in fairy tales or easter bunnies or tooth fairies or anything supernatural or superstitious... but as a physicist I know that science can explain psychology, evolution, biology, chemsitry and physics, almost down to there being a few initial conditions that kicked off the big bang and then you can mathematically model everything else to explain almsot everything today and everything one day in the future when science exhuausts itself. But what I know for a fact is that science can not explain how there is anything or nothing for that matter, what caused that initial perturbation in nothing to cause the big bang, and there are fundamental constants that if they were even slightly different, we would not be here to figure all that out... so either something set that, be it God, or it was a big crap shoot repeating with random conditions until it hit the big bang lottery... there you made me look like an atheist and now all assyrians will all damn me... are you happy ;)
