Taking Paul up on his ludicrous definiton of Christianity`s core belief being "self-sacrifice"...let`s play the hypothetical game...Paul and family are accosted by murderous hairy thugs...these thugs tell Paul to say ten words..lose his foreskin and attend mosque...and his family will be spared (note: though Pauls always play fast and loose, the promise to be let off is central to their claims of having been martyred...Paul will say anything now..but so will a rat in a corner).

Paul believes in laying down his life for a friend...and so he lays it down for his family..and they get murdered next.

Seems to me the greater sacrifice with the least murders all around would have been to convert...but I`m a cowardly pagan who always takes the easy way out..even if it saves his stupid family.
