....it`s a safe bet to say there is far more violence in the last 2000 years of Christian mayhem...up to and including today as well as the Holocaust they visited on entirely innocent Jews 60 years ago than there EVER was under paganism...but that`s a separate issue.

The core of paganism is Tolerance for the gods of others...one of the virtures of having many yourself is a calm acceptance of two or three others someone else has...we see how Egyptian cults spread easily to Greece and Rome as well as between Greece and Rome...and of course in BetNahrain there was a great sharing of gods and symbols we well. At that time it was the Hebrews who were killing each other and their own children over ONE god.

Of course people...that is Men, will fight and kill anyway...but when the battle isn`t cloaked in a desire to prove a god`s uniqueness, the wars become more manageable and less totally destructive...far better for everyone`s sake to just have a war over silver mines...and not for the purpose of wiping out Evil and Blasphemy and imagined insults to your god by people who never heard of the bastard to begin with and don`t find anything particularly praiseworthy in a any god who orders their massacre therefore...as yahwe is noted for...even to getting his reformed Jews, that is: Christians,to butcher his orthodox Jews...after having killed each other with abandon for centuries...this is one FUCKED UP religion!

I think the time has come to draw the distinction between us and them a little sharper. I think Paul should extend an invitation to all of us to post on his pisheeta forum. Not being Christian and therefore barbaric, we agree not to cuss and swear and threaten to smash bibles and video them...we have an open house here in terms of those sort of pyrotecnics...but will respect the house rules they have.

All we ask is that we be allowed the same privillege to poke and prod their values and thinking and religion and morality as they have enjoyed here...to a pagan this is reasonable and there is nothing to fear. We believe what we believe and aren`t afraid of being challenged...we aren`t ashamed of our core beliefs either...but can discuss them openly without resorting to tricks or miracles to explain things away...

So...in the spirit of the Assyrian Golden Rule...the rule that allows you to dispense with all ritual...all mumbo-jumbo and voodoo...a rule..a single rule..that is all anyone of ANY faith or none at all needs to live a good and sane life on earth...we ask Paul to extend the same courtesy to us he has enjoyed and taken advantage of and used to trick, lie to and rub our own open decency in our faces...we promise to do a whole lot better..to behave far more decently than he and his side-kicks have...treat us as we have treated you...put us pagans to shame....be open and welcoming of ideas as uncongenial to you as you THINK your`s are to us, like there is anything AWESOME in your rag tag Jew we are afraid of...it is OUR tolerance that keeps your rotten morality respectable...WE will not throw it in the alley where it belongs...can you respect others enough to welcome them in yout home..as you have been welcome here?

note: the excuses you will give are already known by us all...we just want to hear them again.
