In Response To: Re: proposed Assyrian administrative region (Bur Hawil)

The situation in Iraq is like a paradox, to relate to it you need to understand it from all angles.

...this assumes Hanna understands it from one.

From my analysis, I believe that the key factor is that the US had set some ground rules which are:

..the key factor is that whatever ground rules are set by an invading, illegal occupation not only don`t mean squat...but most people would steer clear of them...but not YOU..you embrace them and base your "strategy" on them.

1. Does not want one ethnic group or religious sect monopolizing power in whole Iraq.

...nothing it can do about that..in fact it just broke down the secular society and strengthened the hand of a lot of sects..like you all are. There`s nothng we in America can do if the Repiblicans dominate congress...it`s known as a Democracy numduts..mjority rules and if the majority is Muslim and has green hair and likes to eat Christians...then THAT`S who rises to the top.

2. Does not want a single ethnic group or religious sect controlling all the national wealth and oil reserves of Iraq.

..of course not..it wants a single foreign country doing that.

3. Does not want to breakdown Iraq into different states along ethnic or religious lines

...you`re repeating yourself yourself.

At least this is the official US stand, but the reality on the ground is moving in other direction. So two things could be concluded:

...another "one two" guy.

a- Their objectives are going astray, (i.e. their original plan is not working). or

...now what makes you think that?

b- What is going on is based on a hidden strategy, (i.e. every thing is going according to a secret plan).

...jeez..the boys again with their decoder rings and Captain Smoosh secret handshakes..can a Clubhouse be far behind? They already have the rooles.

In order for Assyrians to fit in the power formula, Assyrians should open the discussion on redefining the terms used

...when have you boys fit into any power struggle anywhere on earth that you`re going to do it as a Christian minority in Iraq? Can you get in to see the dog catcher in your town? YOU are going to define terms? You already have re-defined the entire English Language!

, specifically, what is Iraq vs. Kurdi-stan vs. Assyria, vs. Turkomania. Because the way this names are treated now is more like a taboo than in the context of Democracy and equality.

..did you mean tatoo? Anyone want a tatoo???

If the issue is Iraq vs. Kurdi-stan (as the Kurds want it portrayed (while ignoring the Assyrians and the Turkomen), although this strategy is to the benefit of the Kurds, but yet it also backfires at Kurdish claims, because they open the door to Assyria and Turkomania. And here is where the alliance between Assyrians and Turkomen is essential, because it benefits both nations that are ignored.

"Turkomaina? Beatlemania? Every gaggle isn`t a nation...no one is going to bother with the way you define and redefine and chop, blend, frappe and whip the English language. Why do you talk as if anyone bothers with you?

If you look at the borders of the Assyrian Triangle, its population are not 100% Assyrians, it is a mosaic mix of all Iraqis,

ALL Iraqis are Assyrians..as much as YOU will ever be American.

therefore it satisfies the conditions of the US, that the border lines of the Assyrian Triangle is not drawn along either ethnic or religious lines, because it has all ethnicities and all religions present there.

..then what`s the purpose of it? If they all look like the rest of Iraq what`s the POINT? This name thing means the world to you...it means nothing to the rest of them....Turkomania indeed! Coming soon to a theatre near you.

Its borders are drawn based on geographical lines: the Tigris river, the Upper Zab river, and Turkish borders (northern border mountains). It was also the ancient historical name of that region.

...so what. Who gives a shit, besides you boys, about NAMES! The rest of the world has real work to do.

And just as the Kurds are entitled to ask for Kurdi-stan, Assyrians too are entitled to ask for Ashuristan (Assyria),

...no one said you can`t ask, whine, wheedle, cajole, importune, repeat, declaim, claim, repeat, beg, scream and laugh and fart for...you can do ALL that and ask for the moon too.

and the Turkoman are entitled to ask for Turkomania, and the Arabs are entitled the remaining part of Iraq.

...whoa there...as long as you`re all asking for a corner that bears your NAMES..shouldn`t the "Arabs" demand it be called ARABIA??? Lord you`re an ass.

The power that Assyrians hold is not their military and numbers, but instead they have three things that the Kurds don't have, which if they use their cards right, they can change the course of events in North Iraq:

...oh puhleeez...play their card right? I told you, they play BINGO!

a- What is dictating events in Iraq is western countries, and Assyrians have larger numbers in Diaspora,

...murdering people and starving their children is NOT dictating anything. If I decide to shove my boot up your ass I haven`t "dictated" which hospital you will go to to have it removed...asuming you even notice.

...so, it turns out it`sd a GOOD THING you boys are in diasporas? I thought it was a tragedy???

and if they take the right steps and play their cards right they can influence events in Iraq through their connections overseas.

...connections? Play cards right...influence things? The very same people who can`t manage forums..who scream and faint and shout and evacutae their pants are going to INFLUENCE people??? Do you see how silly these boys are? They actually believe this pack of mice can be players somewhere...

b- The Assyrians being Christians, although it works negatively for them in the Middle East, yet in the west they share the same religion as the western world, and if they play their cards right, they can reach out to the Christian voters in the west (notice that I mentioned voters not officials, although both should be approached simultaneously), who in turn would influence their representatives, and hence dictate new conditions in north Iraq.

...sure thing...Christians have NEVER killed and robbed Christians! Never!!!

c- Assyrians can expose the atrocities of the Kurds in 1846, 1915 and 1933 and the bloody hands of the Kurds, and appeal directly to the moral values and human rights sentiments of the Christian voters in the west,

...ain`t faith a wonderful thing?

and with the current terrorist scare world wide, the western voters will relate to what Assyrians went through. And will think twice before giving the Kurds a carte-blanche.

...sure they will..the same Westerners who threw you all off of airplanes..ten ton crosses and all.

Assyrian strategy should change, and it should be as follows:

...you bet.

If you don't give us our Assyrian triangle, we will make sure that you won't get any Kurdi-stan.

...sure we will..like we stopped them during the Sanctions from running your triangle.

The weakest point that the Kurds have is that they are totally dependent on the west to protect them,

...who`s gonna protect you..the Mideast? Seems to me the Kurds have been fighting for years without the West...it was the bigger Bush who betrayed them..remember? Or were up late with a Syriac manuscript at the time?

because none of their neighbors (Turks, Iranians, Iraqis, Syrians, Arabs like them), and the power of Assyrians lies in the fact that they are spread in large numbers in the western world,

..."power"? Wait a minute...weren`t you all crying..isn`t it the END of your Assria? All this time you`ve been moaning the Diaspora..and now you claim it is of BENEFIT? Do you have the word "OPPORTUNIST" in your dictionary?

and being Christians they can appeal and relate to western Christians,

...down on their knes, their lips at full pucker....very "appealling".

and hence they have the power to change the political thinking of the west and pull that western support from under Kurdish feet, then all Kurdish achievements for the last 14 years (since the first Gulf war) will collapse.

...is this fifteen different kinds of asshole or what?

The key is that Assyrians should use their power in the west to influence events in north Iraq.

...of COURSE! Why didn`t I see it coming? You must all UNTITTY with Hanna now!

And the beauty of this strategy is that even the neighboring countries (Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria) would be supportive of Assyrians, because it is in their best interest too, and might even finance this strategy.

...I think it`s all those tatoos..the ink, you know. Does he make ANY sense to anyone?

Remember Assyrians lesser numbers in the Middle East, they have no territorial claims in Turkey, Iran, Syria, as to Iraq, what Assyrians are claiming is their legitimate right, and it is much smaller than what the Kurds are claiming.

...in a hundred years no one who matters anywhere has recognized any such right..legitimate or otherwise.

On the other hand the Kurds have much larger numbers and have territorial claims in all neighboring countries, and hence they are a threat to all of them.

...and so? You really think anyone is going to risk angering the Kurds to get their asses licked by YOU?

This is where the Assyrian power lies! In Arabic they call it: Baydit El-Qabban (or the weight [literarily: egg] of the balance), which tips over the balance depending on which side that egg is place in.

...you tipped your balance long ago...you just "flipped your lid" too.

The Kurds should learn from history that what happened to Assyrians who seemed to be powerful under British rule of Iraq with big dreams of an independent Assyria, all that disappeared when the British pulled out their support.

..it was fools like you who fell for it...there many many Assyrians, in fact the vast majority, who disagreed vehemently..but then they had a future in Iraq whereas you guys have always been theives with little to lose..might as well "dream".

And now the Kurds are in a similar situation, and the moment the support of the west is pulled out, they could easily face what Assyrians faced after 1933. My point is that it is not in the best interest of the Kurds to deny Assyrian rights because it could backfire on them.

...go away. You`re depressing...that a gown man should be so childish...and YOU run beth!

It should be made very clear to the Kurds, that north Iraq is like a pie, if Assyrians are not going to get a piece of that pie, then Assyrians will make sure that no one else gets any piece of it,

...that`s funny..that "strategy" is exactly what you do to each other in ONE city..if one of you can`t get his way..he makes sure no one else gets anything...way to build.

(putting it in graphically [excuse the language]) even to the extent that Assyrians would be willing to $hit on that pie so that no one else would be able to eat it.

...the only place your shit has been "powerful" is when you dump on the Assyrian heritage..then you really stink up the place.

If the argument of the Kurds that they should be entitled to Kurdi-stan because they constitute 25% of the Iraqi population, then with the same token, the argument of the Assyrians would be that they too constitute 25% of the population of Kurdi-stan, and hence they are entitled to the same rights in Kurdi-stan as the Kurds are asking for in Iraq, which is the right of the Assyrian Triangle to be the same as the rights of Kurdi-stan.

..the Kurds never "asked" anyone. For as long as we can remember the Kurds have been in those mountaisn fighting for them...while you all ran off to the Christian West or worked for the Brits and now the Americvans. You assholes couldn`t get anything out of the Kurds..you couldn`t steal candy from a baby...and YOU`RE going to decide what`s good for the Kurds? Do you see ANYTHING in your CVhristian lives that would inspire confidence in them? You see any reason they`d have to emulate or even tolerate you? I sure don`t.

Below is a lighter outlook at a new Assyrian strategy in Iraq that I posted on Beth-Suryoyo-Othuroyo forum, it sort of explains the Assyrian situation through a joke!

...you mean you were SERIOUS till now???

Sure Assyrians are not a military power nor do they have population numbers that is why their power lies not in being able to force on others what we want, instead it lies in preventing others from getting what they want.

Here is a joke that sort of explains it:

The parts of the body met to decide who is the boss amongst them:

The brains said I am the boss because I think.

Then one by one other parts of the body each claimed that they should be the boss for their own reasons:

The heart because it pumps blood to the body.

The lungs because it gets oxygen to the body.

The stomach because it digests to food.

The intestines because it gets nutrients to the body.

Each part of the body had a chance to talk and finally it was the turn of the a$$hole.

The a$$hole claimed that it is the boss, and didn’t give any reason why it is qualified for that post.

The other parts of the body laughed, and told it that it is the dirtiest and useless part of the body, and there is no way to accept it as the boss.

The a$$hole insisted that it is the boss, and threatened that if they don't accept that, it would stop functioning, and shutoff the body’s outlet.

They didn't believe that, and discounted the power of the a$$hole, so the a$$hole retaliated by closing the body's outlet, not allowing any more $hit out.

Things went on fine for couple of days, but after the third day, the intestines were backed up, the body was constipated, the stomach backed up with food, the blood stopped getting its nutrition, the heart slowed its pumping of the blood, the lungs couldn't supply enough oxygen, the brain couldn't think properly due to lack of blood and oxygen, and the whole body started collapsing.

After five days, all the body parts called for an emergency meeting and unanimously declared the a$$hole as the boss, and begged it to allow the $hit to move out. And that is how the a$$hole got what it wanted.

...I get it...you`re an asshole and you STILL won`t get what you want..so you`ll get all puffed up on your own shit...right?

Although this is a joke, yet it shows that even an underdog has the power to force some changes too. The trick is; if you can’t get what you want, you can prevent others from getting what they want too! And that is when they will listen to your demands.

...some strategy...gee, why didnt they ever think of it before?

Maybe the sound of a$$hole is a little negative or offensive to some of you, but in fact this was the policy of Mahatma Ghandi where he succeeded in eventually forcing the British to listen to his demands, and give India its independence. As you see this strategy had worked in the past in India, and resulted in an independent India.

..that`s is NOT how it happened. Ghandi was not PASSIVE..he was non-violent...he put his head and heart on the line constantly..he didn`t ASK for anything...he MADE the British want to leave because he hit them in their wallets NOT their morals!

If Assyrians want to achieve their rights, then they too should adopt a similar strategy in Iraq, this way if they are not given their legitimate rights, then they should stop waste time demanding those rights from people with deaf ears, and instead they should direct all their efforts and resources to try to stop others from getting their rights too. When the others realize that their plans are going to be jeopardized, then they would listen to Assyrians and would be willing to give them some more rights.

...okay...let`s see if it works.

By the way in the dialect of Azekh (or Beth Zabdi) the word BOSS means A$$, and maybe this joke originated from Azekh. So watch out if someone uses the term Boss, because it might be an insult or it might be a compliment. It has double meaning!

...sigh....
