...the last thing the United States Corporate class wanted was a free and vigorous Latin America...Asia or MidEast. In all three areas the CIA and who knows what else have been waging a dirty war for decades underminning every damn thing they could...fomenting regional discord...you name it. The cynnical support of Israel by a nation that hates Jews as much as the Vatican ever did was intended merely to shield it from responsibility..it was the Arabs who "always" hated Jews, they said..when it was the Christian West that ALWAYS hated them and still does.

Iraq is part of the same game...the wealth in the MidEast is supposed to be siphoned off by the United States as much as humanly possible and thugs and royal scoundrels are to be kept in place etc.

But...I think America is beginning to feel the paralysis that comes from moral turpitude..or is it turpentine..never can tell.

I'm thinking of the less than stellar performance in the Olympics for one where even America's over fed darling basketballers are finding their Ovaltine with Flag in the morning doesn't get the job done any longer.

Insiduously and inevitably, for all the damage we've done to other people round the world..people who had not that much a height to fall from to begin with..we've done far more to bring ourselves down..as ignorant, as jingoistic and as carssly in love with a buck at any cost as we are...there'd be hell to pay sooner or later.

We thought cashing in our ideals, the ones we WORKED so hard for, wouldn't hurt our moral line as we'd increase the size of our bottoms and thereby would hang our tale from now on...we'd buy what we couldn't earn any longer, living off our "investments" made off of a great name and country..and it ain't working too well.

This is when empires have always collapsed...when they insisted that more of the same would reverse the losses that "same" cost them...we'll see if a democracy as flawed as ours is still has it within to reverse the slide...that's what it was all supposed to be about anyway..the will of the People and not their service providers is suppsoed to rule, theory being that if it's in our power to do what's right for us ultimately...we'll do it.
