It was inevitable. For the second time that I can recall, Fred Aprim has hung up his book and leaves us to our own devices. Just as predictably several voices of many boys can be heard bewailing the fact that this great "lover" of Assyria...whom others would characterize as the fucker of it, is turning his back on the rest of us because we're too stupid to agree with him.

If the hopes of Assyrians are based on this consummate ass...you can understand why they are where they are. When the main support to your empire is as rotten as this one...it's no wonder when the collapse comes...with or without his "suppoirt"..the whole thing is shot through with rot. All that has to happen is for Peter Jassim to change his name to Ayoli and Assyria will fall in on itself....and maybe that's the best thing that can happen...for as Iraq Christians and not wannabe Assyrians nationalists...the citizens of BetNahrain, ALL of them, might stand their greatest chance to attain peace and prosperity.

The Assyrian "cause" is a red flag signalling to every oily baron that there are people within Iraq, though most of them are outside...who are ripe for manipulation...who are fuzzy headed and weak minded, though big and long on rhetoric, who can be easily manipulated with warm whispers up their arses.

I say again, good riddance. Aprim is an illiterate oaf posing and sashaying for those even more ignorant than himself who do themselves the "honor" of thinking they are the best and the brightest because they "talkalot".

The bright spot in all of this is the following farewell note...disguised as a plea to reconsider, sent along by a Grusha...whatever that is. It smacks a little of Reason and good sense...although when you realize it's watsed on Aprim, brings us all right back where we started from, that the single greatest mark of being a REAL Assyrian is being so fucking stupid that you barely can serve for the butt of all jokes.

TO MY BROTHER FRED APRIM

Akhona Fred,
I hope you listen to my plea and internalize what I am about to say to you. (I am praying that you do.)

In these critical times, we cannot afford to lose ANY Assyrian. This is a small nation and we need every Assyrian, small or large, old and young. We need each other, more now than ever. Each Assyrian has something to contribute. Some may think some Assyrians have more to contribute than others, but my philosophy is "each according to their ability".

You, as an Assyrian son, have made invalueable contributions to the Assyrian society. Through your books on the Assyrian continuity, the current Assyrian state of distress, and the Assyrian voices from our homeland, you have singularly imbedded this image in every Assyrian heart and mind, present and future. There is no greater love than can exude from an individual, as you have poured through your sharp pen.

No Assyrian can take that and walk away from your accomplishments. Not even the ones that have disagreed with you on certain political stands, (including myself.)

And yet, you are walking away from us!!!!
And so casually, without a second thought.

Every great man has an achilles heel, and yours is caused by the criticism you receive for your stand. But your achilles heel is self-inflicted. You are too sensitive and even too reactionary at times, and this is not good, bro!
Why?
Because we can never dialogue with one another and reach a concensus when we perceive other's criticism as an attack, a negative mark on the image we try to project to the world.

According to Irving Goffman we create our self-image by the perception of others. So naturally, our pride is hurt when we are criticised. BUT the thing to remember is that NOT all the people out there perceive us in the same manner, at the same time. This is why there's always room to forgive ourselves and each other.

If we always take other's criticism of us in a negative way, we can never evolve, change, and reach a higher level, and be able to maintain lasting relationships.

We need a balance and that balance can only be achieved if we accept ourselves and each other in the same way, AS WE ARE.

It not only hurts us, but others, as well, when we cut off our nose to spite our face. Everything we do impacts others, because we are many parts of the whole. There is no you without me, and there's no me without you. That's what's beautiful about humanity!!!!!

We are tied to each other in ways we cannot even imagine.

so I ask you, my brother, do not be so hard on yourself, or on me and others. Be even keel.

Even in the good book it says:
Don't be too hot
Don't be too cold
Be lukewarm.

I admire your passion, and expect nothing less from you, but be even keel in your decisions and assessments, especially when it comes to serving your nation.

I hope you do not stop writing on the forum, because you will deprive all of us from an important member of the WHOLE. And I don't have to tell you that you will adversely impact your nation by your actions.

I hope you will hear my prayer, and will reconsider your negative decision to throw away 8 long years working for oumta Atoureta for a HURT PRIDE.
IN SPITE OF ALL THE CRITICISM, IT IS YOUR DUTY TO WORK TIRELESSLY FOR YOUR NATION.

Grusha

...it is Aprim's duty to drop dead.
